How can writing be transformative to our bodies? Reading Room Rotterdam landed at Eiland Brienenoord to host Mutant Sensualities, a speculative-fiction writing and foraging workshop. Led by artist and time-traveler Lou Lou Sainsbury, we explored how sensual experience can help us rethink and reimagine our troubled relations to more-than-human-worlds

Named after Mutant Ecologies:
Manufacturing Life in the Age of Genomic Capital by Borg & Policante, the workshop took a queer, intimate look towards the riotously mutant, monstrous and biologically indeterminate. This include readings by Lou Lou Sainsbury and a range of poetry, prose and science-fiction materials including Octavia Butler, Star Trek, Luce Irigaray and Samuel R. Delaney.

By looking towards more-than-human-worlds, as well as the stars and wanderers that inhabit them, how could we imagine a more ecologically-centered and liberated future?
